Screen Daily reports that Finding Neverland star Kate Winslet
has joined the voice cast of DreamWorks' and Aardman's Flushed Away,
due out on June 23, 2006.
The claymation feature, from the creators of Chicken Run and
Wallace & Gromit, tells the story of Roddy (Hugh Jackman),
an uptown rat who is flushed down the toilet from his penthouse apartment into
the sewers of London, where he has to learn a whole new way of life. Ian McKellen
voices the story's antagonist, a villainous frog, while Andy Serkis plays his
hench-rat, Spike. Winslet will voice Rita, the rat who teams up with Roddy.
Bill Nighy has also been cast.
Production on the movie will take place in Los Angeles and not at Aardman's
Bristol headquarters because of the sheer scale of the production
