| Anti-trailer for 'Bee Movie' | 07/11/06, 10:04pm EST
| In an interview with USA Today, Jerry Seinfeld talks about the teaser to his animated film 'Bee Movie.'
The last thing you'd expect when viewing a teaser trailer for an animated movie would be a live-action sequence, right? Well, Jerry Seinfeld is banking on just that. In 2002, the trailer to Seinfeld's 'Comedian' didn't even feature any clips from the actual film. For his latest feature film endeavor, Seinfeld called up buddy Chris Rock to film a live-action scene in which they are both dressed up as insects on a windshield. Like the 'Comedian' trailer, the 'Bee Movie' teaser features no actual footage of the film. A follow-up to the current teaser is due out in February of next year, while the film itself is due in theatres in November 2007, or "trying to" -- according to the ad.
Seinfeld laughed, "It's a chance to be funny and spend someone else's money." He also said that it was a good call on DreamWorks Animation's part to invest in the live-action spoof:"Let's face it; if it was just a regular trailer cut with footage of the film, you and I wouldn't be sitting here talking about it."

Bee Movie is the tale of Barry B. Benson, a graduate bee fresh out of college, who is disillusioned with the prospect of having only one career choice -- honey. On a chance opportunity to go outside the hive, Barry's life is saved by a woman, Vanessa, a florist in New York City. As their relationship blossoms, Barry's eyes are opened to the world of humans and he soon discovers that people partake in the mass consumption of honey. Armed with this information, Barry realizes his true calling in life and decides to sue the human race for stealing the bees' honey. As a result, the bee and human communities get involved in ways they never had before, each one of them pointing a finger at the other. Barry gets caught up in the middle and finds himself with some very unusual problems to solve.
