(April 21st, 2003) Finally, we see some footage from the film. The international and domestic trailers are now online in quicktime and windows media respectively. I haven't seen the domestic trailer because of problems on the system but the international trailer rocks in every aspect. Character animation and CGI monsters are stunning. See the footage at Yahoo and international one at UIP.de.

LatinoReview has scored two new images that you can check out on their site. Thanks to 'Fred'.

(April 17th, 2003) A fan emailed to Animated Movies the description of 'Sinbad' trailer which he saw in front of 'Dreamcatcher'. It is totally positioned as an action comedy, with a voice over saying something like 'This summer, no mountain will be too high [view of Sinbad from the back, he is climbing a snowy mountain, the camera zooms out, you can see he is way up high, says the scooper. Read the full description under Animated Movies April 16 update. Thanks to 'Henry'.

(April 14th, 2003) Looks like DreamWorks is finally rolling it's wheels on Sinbad promotion. Last night, Entertainment Tonight ran special interview clips with Brad Pitt and Michelle Pfeiffer that can also be watched on their website. Eris is very amused by Sinbad and she toys with him, sort of like a cat and a mouse, comments Pfeiffer who plays Eris the goddess.

(April 10th, 2003) As most of you have noticed, this film is rated PG for some material that may not be suitable to children. Also, the score will be composed by Harry Gregson-Williams who did work on 'Antz' and Shrek films.

(April 9th, 2003) Yet another exclusive courtesy of DreamWorks Pictures is the super hi-res advance sheet of 'Sinbad'. I absolutely love it, especially the back drop image of Eris played Michelle Pfeiffer. Click on it for super large version.

(April 3rd, 2003) A raving in-depth review has surfaced DarkHorizons that hails 'Sinbad' as a well paced, excellently animated and wonderfully voiced. As a family we agreed we would pay to see it again when officially released in the Summer here. As my oldest child put it, "That was the best movie I've ever seen! Be sure to read this detailed review here.

(March 26th, 2003) The end of March is upon us and still no marketing signs by DreamWorks of it's upcoming feature 'Sinbad'. According to a source, the film is still aimed for July or end of June release. The reason for no advertisement? It is not as marketable as Shrek and Spirit. The source, however does say that this DreamWorks tale will have more adult humour than any of it's past projects. It will be more like Road to El Dorado but only better in terms of story and editing. Man, I can't wait anymore to see the trailer. Come on DreamWorks, Show us the Trailer! Show us the Trailer!

(March 20th, 2003) The following are two new book titles that will be released in June provided the film's release date remains the same. First title is an Adventure Fun Book filled with stickers and the second, a junior novelization loaded with pictures. Order them now.

(March 18th, 2003) AICN received another rave review of 'Sinbad' today which declares it as a movie will bring 2-D animation back to life. The part that stood out for the reviewers was the villian Eris played by Michelle Pfeiffer. She is ruthless, sexy and funny, says the reviewer. Read the full review here.

(March 17th, 2003) Provided that DreamWorks still has July 2nd as the release date for their latest adventure, overseas schedule is now available at IMDB.com. Check it out.

(March 12th, 2003) It is about time that Sinbad comes to life. The DreamWorks animated feature is due on July 2nd and the first sign of that was seen yesterday when Moogle X sent a test screening review of Sinbad to AICN. The reviewer enjoyed this new venture from SKG and comments, my feelings about SINBAD up until today could best be described as “wary optimism”. A pure animated adventure movie, its scope and wonder unrestricted by such annoyances as money, physics, safety, or reality, could be a film lover’s dream. That sounds good but we are still not sure if the film is still aimed for July 2nd or summer release for that matter. If we don't see a trailer by the end of this month, I think DreamWorks should hold on to this one until Thanksgiving or Christmas. Read the spoiler featured review.

(March 4th, 2003) A detailed premise is out thanks to Hasbro Toys of 'Sinbad' which you can read in the right column above. This story first appeared in DarkHorizons.

(February 27th, 2003) DreamWorks is one of the few studios which observes it's fan base on regular basis and make that the deciding factor in creating special events. Since the release of the film, young fans over on this fansite have submitted some great work which has piled the fan art section to almost ten pages. That could be the partial reason that the studio is holding a 'Draw Your Own Spirit Contest' where kids from ages 2-12 will be able to submit their own Spirit Drawings to one of the world's leading animators, James Baxter. On March 2nd, you can take your kids, nephews or nieces to Westwood, California for this special event and attend the free screening of Spirit Stallion of Cimarron. Grand Prize winners will get their work published in L.A. Times and a private pass to the screening of Sinbad Seven Legend of Seas. Get more details at DreamWork SKG Fansite.

(February 18th, 2003) In the upcoming issue of Forbes Magazine, DreamWorks past, present and future is highlighted in an in-depth article. While discussing various animated features, Katzenberg spoke a little about Marina, our lead heroin in the film. She is the most compelling, kick-ass female lead of an animated movie, ever. For me, the most compelling animated heroin thus far is Esmeralda from 'Hunch Back of Notre Damme'. You can learn about DreamWorks future animation and feature film slate at Forbes.com. You do have to register free in order for you to read it.
